November Beauty Favorites!

Hey everyone! I hope y'all are having a great Wednesday night! I wanted to share with y'all my makeup favorites from the month of November, so lets get started!

I have a lot of favorites this month! I couldn't decide which was my favorite in some categories, so there are multiple favorites in the eye makeup, lip, and face categories. Anyways, lets get started:

So I am first going to start with the face products:

1. Too Faced primed and poreless face primer

I got this in a kit of samples from too faced about a month ago. I LOVE this primer! Its looks so flawless and amazing on the skin, I am in love! :) I can't say enough good things about it!

2. Next, is Lo'real true match lumi liquid foundation in W3 nude beige.

I have really been enjoying this foundation. I have oily skin so this works well for me in the fall/winter months because I don't feel like an oil slick at the end of the day.

3. NYX powder blush in Cinnamon.

This is a gorgeous blush! It may look intimidating in the package because it comes off as being orange, but once you apply it to your cheeks and blend it out, it becomes this beautiful coral shade. Here's a swatch:

Now obviously, this is much more pigmented than I would ever wear it, but I was just giving you an idea of what it looks like.

4. Tarte Natural cheek stain in flush.

I also got this in a sample kit and I love this!! Its so natural on the cheeks and it gives you a great "flushed" look. Here's a swatch:

I don't know if you can see it but its down towards the bottom of my wrist.

5. Chocolate Soleil matte bronzer.

I got this also in a sample kit and once again another product I love!!! This is so nice to warm up the skin with, I just love this bronzer! Here's a swatch:

Again, this a much more pigmented swatch than I would wear, but what I love about it is that it is completely 100% matte! (meaning no shimmer or sparkle) which is really nice, for someone like me who doesn't like shimmer all over my face. Oh and the really awesome thing about this bronzer, is it smells like chocolate! :D

6. Rimmel Natural Bronzer in sunlight #021.

I love this bronzer as well! It is a little bit lighter than the chocolate soleil bronzer, but it is still a favorite of mine! Here are both the too faced chocolate soleil and the rimmel natural bronzer swatched together so you can see how light the rimmel one is compared to the too faced:

The rimmel bronzer is on the top and the chocolate soleil bronzer is on the bottom.

7. ELF translucent matifying face powder.

I love this face powder! I apply this after I've done all my makeup, so this acts as my setting powder. Its really cheap, I paid $3.00 for it at Target and I'm almost out:

This is a great powder, I apply it with a big powder brush and I dust it all over my face. Another product I can't say enough about! :)

Ok, so thats it for the face products. Next, is the eye makeup products.

1. Too faced shadow insurance eye primer

I love this eye primer!! I haven't used anything else! It keeps my shadows from creasing all day and it doesn't make my eyelids greasy. The only thing I don't like is the price, I paid $18.00 for it, BUT having said that I bought this last year and I still have a lot left. So that I do like about it :)

2. Wet n Wild eyeshadow trio in Silent Treatment

This is a great trio! I have been using the bottom mauve/lilac shade all over my lids and then combining that with a couple of wet n wild single shadows. These are very pigmented shadows and I have been LOVING them! I have a bunch of different wet n wild palettes and if I had to pick which brand I thought had the best eyeshadows, I would go with wet n wild!! Here are swatches:

So gorgeous!!! :D

3. Wet n Wild eyeshadow singles in Brulee and Nutty

So these two shades are what I pair with the mauve/lilac shade from the silent treatment palette. I put nutty in the crease and then I put brulee on my browbone. What I love about brulee is that it is such a creamy, buttery shade :) and nutty is just beyond gorgeous! Here are some swatches of both:

I hope you can see the swatches ok :) I am so in love with these!! :D

4. Physician's formula nude eyes eyeshadow palette

I recently rediscovered this palette in my collection and I fell back in love with it! I did a look combining the black, the middle mauve shade, the darker mauve shade below that and the cream shade at the top. And it looked so amazing!! I will do a tutorial on it soon :) Here are swatches of the shades:

So gorgeous!! I love these!! :D

5. Revlon colorstay smoky shadow stick in Smolder

Both of these shades are gorgeous! I recently did a tutorial using the dark green side and I combined that with wet n wild shadow in nutty and brulee, and I really liked it! I haven't used the light shade as often but I do love this alot! Here are swatches:

As you can see, very pigmented shades but they are of course more pigmented for the swatch :)

6. Almay get up and grow mascara

I LOVE this mascara!! I've raved about this ever since I got it, I finally found a mascara that doesn't clump, it separates my lashes great and it gives very apparent volume. I'm so pleased with this mascara, out of all the mascaras I've tried this one is my #1 favorite!!

Well, thats it for eye makeup favorites. Now lastly the lip product favorites:

1. Lo'real Color Riche lipstick in Tender Pink

Wow! I just used this the other day and this is another one of my rediscovered loves! It is a great shade for fall and winter. I just LOVE this shade!

2. Too Faced La Creme drenched lipstick in nude beach

The packaging on this is gorgeous!! I love this shade because its a natural color with a bit of shine so it doesn't look like your lips are washed out. Here are swatches of both lipsticks:

Too faced lipstick in on the top and the Lo'real lipstick is on the bottom. I am in love with these!! :)

Wow! That was a long post! Thank you for bearing with me through this :) each and every one of these products I love so much! Keep your eye out for some tutorials using these products very soon :) Thats it for my November favorites and I hope y'all enjoyed this! Have a great night everyone and I'll be blogging again soon! :)

LORAC Pro makeup tutorial and MORE!

Hey everyone! I hope y'all are having a great Wednesday afternoon! I was thinking as I was doing my makeup this morning "wow, its been forever since I've done a tutorial for my blog!" So I thought I would do a tutorial on my makeup I did today :) and I'm so excited because I'm using the LORAC Pro eyeshadow palette!!! :D So anyways, lets get started:

Here's all the products I used this morning:

FACE:

  • Too Faced primed and poreless face primer
  • Sei Bella Tinted Moisturizer in Fawn
  • Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer
  • ELF Translucent matifying face powder
  • Tarte Natural cheek stain in flush

EYES:

  • LORAC Behind the scenes eye primer
  • LORAC Pro eyeshadow palette
  • Almay Get up and grow mascara in Blackest black

LIPS:

  • Wet n Wild Megashield lip color SPF 15 in Birthday Suit

So thats all the products I used on my face and here's how I did the look:

So after I applied my too faced primed and poreless face primer and lorac behind the scenes eye primer, I let both dry for a few seconds. I always do my eye look first because if I don't like it I can remove it without having to take off my foundation. Anyways, after the lorac eye primer dried I took sigma eye shading E55 brush and I applied the matte shade called "mauve" from the lorac pro palette. Then taking the sigma tapered blending E40 brush, I applied the matte shade called "sable" to my crease and blended that out.

For now my eye look is done, next I go to my sei bella tinted moisturizer and I applied that all over my face using sigma flat kabuki F80 brush to blend it in to my skin. After I applied that I took the tarte natural cheek stain in flush and I applied that to my cheeks with my fingers. Then taking the sigma large powder F30 brush, I contoured my cheeks with too faced chocolate soleil bronzer. Then taking that same F30 brush, I applied my elf translucent matifying face powder all over my face.

Then going back to my eyes, I applied two coats of the almay get up and grow mascara in blackest black to my upper and lower lashes. Lastly, I applied the wet n wild megashield lip color in Birthday suit to my lips.

And thats it! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and I'll be blogging again soon! Have a great day everyone! Also, if you have any requests that you'd like me to do for my blog please feel free to tweet me. Here's the link: www.twitter.com/mariahsierra94

Influenster Beauty Bloggers 2012 VoxBox review!!

Hey everyone! I hope y'all are having a great Monday afternoon! I know this is a little late, but I wanted to share with you my review of the Influenster Beauty Bloggers 2012 voxbox. DISCLAIMER: I recieved these products complimentary of Influenster for testing and reviewing purposes.  So lets get started:

First of all, if you don't know what Influenster is, it is a online company that you do surveys for so they know what you like and you earn badges every time you complete one of their surveys. If you qualify, you get a voxbox for free with different products for you try out and review based on what you said you liked and what your preferences were in the survey you completed to be eligible to get a voxbox.

The voxbox I qualified for was the Beauty Bloggers 2012 voxbox. Basically, if you have a beauty blog you can qualify. Lets get started:

The first product that caught my eye from the box were these Kiss ever pro lashes starter kit. It comes with number 05 lashes, an applicator and the lash glue. I was very excited about these because I have always wanted to try false lashes, I just never picked one up. I finally got them out the other day and I tried them out. First off, they are tricky to try to apply if you've never done it before but once you get them on your eye, they stay put with the glue until you take them off. So this product I was very impressed with and I can't wait to use them more!

The next product that I saw was this Eboost daily health booster powder. You put this in an 8 oz glass of water to boost your immune system. I tried this and I liked the fact that it had so many vitamins in it. It has 2500mcg of Vitamin B12, 1,000 IU of Vitamin D, 1,000 mg of Vitamin C, 15 mg of Niacin, 2 mg of Vitamin B6, 15 mg of Zinc, 100 mcg of Selenium, 2 mg of Copper, 120 mcg of Chromium, 40 mg of Sodium, and 550 mg of Potassium. The best part is only has 5 calories!!! :) And no sugars!!

The next thing that was in the box was this $10 coupon for the bath and body works 3 wick candles!!! So instead of them being $19.50, by using the coupon it made them only $10!!! I used this as soon as I got it and I got 2 of the candles for the price of one! :) So very happy with them!!! :D

The next product that I got was a mini fall bath and body works candle in Mahogany Teakwood, I was so excited about this candle until I smelled it. The scent is awful unfortunately, it is way too strong for my taste and I just was very disappointed because I really love these mini candles :(

The next product I got as an extra was this Not Your Mother's Kinky Moves Curl Defining Hair cream. Now as of right now I have super short hair as a result of having so many surgeries in the past 2 months, so I unfortunately was not able to use it because of that and also because my hair is naturally wavy and straight.

The next product I got as an extra was this Vitabath Fragrance Mist in Wild Red Cherry. I was also disappointed by this product because I didn't like the scent once again. So as a result, I didn't use it.

The next product I got was this NYC IndividualEyes all in one palette. I liked the idea of this palette because it comes with an eye primer so you don't have to buy a separate one. But as soon as I swatched the products, I noticed that eyeshadows were chalky and powdery. The primer and illuminator were both very oily feeling. Here are the swatches:

I get that they are long wearing which is great, but the fact that they are chalky even when you tap your brush to get the excess product off was not something I was willing to use. Like I said, I love the idea but the overall way that the product came out really showed their cheap price unfortunately.

The last product I received was this Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin for dark hair. I was so excited about these, but once again I have super short hair and so I am unable to use these right now. But I love the idea of these!!

So thats it for this review of the Beauty Bloggers 2012 VoxBox! I hope you enjoyed this and I'll be blogging again soon! Have a great day everyone! :)

UPDATED makeup collection/storage!

Hey everyone! I hope y'all are having a wonderful Monday morning! I wanted to share with you my updated makeup collection/storage because since I did the last post, my storage set-up has changed and my makeup collection has grown. So lets get started:

So here's what my vanity looks like on top. Over on the left side, you can see I store my Sigma brushes in a glass container with beads down inside it so that my brushes will stand up. Then in the middle I have my perfumes and a candle. And lastly on the far right I have a basket with makeup samples, makeup bags and various lotions.

So if you looked at the picture of the vanity, you can see that there are 5 drawers to store things in. These drawers are on the left and this bottom drawer is where I store all my nail polishes. Mostly, the polishes I have are Sinful Colors, but I recently got a set by OPI and I also have picked up a bunch of wet n wild polishes along the way as well. Next to the nail polish bin on the left side you see another bin that I have stored my makeup sponges and a couple of nail polishes that wouldn't fit in the other bin. And in between the two bins, I have some nail files.

Above the nail polish drawer, I have this drawer which is storing my neutrogena deep clean makeup wipes and some odds and ends underneath those.

In the middle drawer I have all my face products and big eyeshadow palettes that can't be stored in the drawer that has all my eye makeup stuff. So I have face powders, foundations, bronzers, highlighting products and face primers.

These next two drawers are on the right side of my vanity and in this top drawer I store all my blushes. I have various brands, mostly drugstore. But I do have a couple high end brands that I got in a sephora favorites kit that I just purchased. I have a Milani baked blush in Coralina, a NYX blush in Cinnamon and one in Pinched, a Nicole Miller blush in Peach satin and a Stila convertible color blush/lip color in Peony and two Wet n Wild blushes in Mellow Wine and Pearlescent Pink.

Below the drawer that has my blushes in it, is this drawer which stores all my eye makeup products and lip products. So in front of the two bins you can see that I store all my Wet n Wild eyeshadow palettes and my physician's formula nude eyes palette. Next to the bin on the right, I have my "hard to store" products because the packaging has not allowed them to be stored nicely so they are put on the side.

So in the bin on the right, I store all my eye primers, mascaras, eyeshadow singles, eyeliners and eyeshadow pencils. In the bin on the left I store all my lipsticks, lip primers and lip glosses. In both bins I have various brands, in the bin on the right I mostly have all wet n wild but in the bin on the left I have some good variations for lip products. As far as high end lip products I have only one and I just purchased it last week, it is the Too Faced la creme drenched lipstick in nude beach. But all the rest of the lipsticks and lip glosses are drugstore, most of them are from Revlon.

Thats it for the updated makeup collection! Now onto the storage part of this post, the bins that I have in the drawers I got from Big Lots for around $4 I think. They are wire, so they will last way longer than those plastic bins from the dollar store. I was so excited because I found them in turquoise to match my room! But they are the long bins that you would store pencils and other office stuff. And the brush holder, my mom gave to me. The basket on the top of the vanity on the far right, I got as a gift from one my friends from college for my birthday.

So thats it for this updated makeup collection/storage post!! I hope y'all enjoyed this and I'll be blogging again soon! Have a great day everyone! :)

First Sephora.com purchase!!!

Hey everyone! I hope y'all are having a great Thursday morning! I wanted to share with you my first sephora.com haul! I've only been in the store twice because there isn't one remotely close to where I live, so I thought why not try buying some things online. I ordered the products I wanted on Monday and it just came in today! Anyways, lets get started:

The first thing I purchased is the Sephora favorites In The Glow kit. This kit has mini sized products of different brands to try out and this was the most expensive thing on my list actually, I paid $45 for it and it has a $111 retail value! Here are pictures of the products plus some swatches:

Here's the first product:

This first product is the LORAC Perfectly Lit Oil-free Luminizing Powder in Spotlight

The next product is Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc in Golden Mosiac

The next product is the Tarte Amazonian clay 12 hour blush in Splendor

The next product is the Benefit High Beam

The next product is Tarte Natural Cheek stain in Flush

The next product is the BareMinerals All over face color in Pure Radiance

The next product is the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder

The next product in this kit is the Stila Convertible Color in Peony

The last product is the NARS Bronzing powder in Laguna

The next item I purchased was the Too Faced Beauty Editor Darlings kit. This was really cheap for the amount of products I got, I paid $19 for this. Here are some pictures:

This kit contains a 0.13 oz Deluxe Lashgasm Mascara, 0.17 oz Deluxe shadow insurance, a 0.10 oz Deluxe Glamour Gloss volumizing Lip gloss, a 0.12 oz Deluxe lip insurance anti-feathering lip primer, and a 0.17 oz deluxe primed and poreless skin smoothing face primer.

Next, I purchased the Too Faced La creme Color drenched lip cream lipstick in Nude Beach. This was expensive I thought for a lipstick, but you are buying the brand basically. Anyways, I paid $21 for this. Here are some pictures and swatch:

The last product I purchased was the LORAC Pro Palette! I've had my eye on this for a while, but was hesitant to buy it. So I finally bought it! This was cheap compared to the Naked 1 and 2 palettes, I only paid $42 for it. Here are some pictures and swatches:

So I'll name them from right to left (top row first) by the way I should mention that the top half are all matte shades and the bottom half are all shimmer.

Top row (far right) is White, Cream, Taupe, Light pink, Mauve, Sable, Espresso, Black.
Bottom row (left to right) is Nude, Champagne, Gold, Light bronze, Pewter, Garnet, Deep purple, and Slate.

This kit also comes with a 0.19 oz LORAC Behind the scenes eye primer. I can't wait to start using this palette and everything else I got :)

Wow! This was long, I apologize. But I hope you enjoyed this and I hope you will check these things out for yourselves! Have a great day everyone! :)
