Ulta Haul Part 2!

Hey Everyone! I hope ya'll are having a great Thursday afternoon! I just wanted to share with you another Ulta haul that is basically a continuation of the one I shared with you a couple days ago. I went a couple days ago and I was looking for specific products that they were out of unfortunately, so I went to a different one today and they had what I was looking for :) So anyways, lets get started....

The first product that I picked up was Lo'real True Match Lumi liquid foundation. I had been interested in this for a while, but I didn't want to pay the stagering $12.99 price, fortunately in last Sunday's paper I found a $2.00 off coupon! So I paid only $10.99 for it today!! :) Here's a picture:

BTW, my shade is W3 Nude Beige in case you are close to or have an olive skin tone like I do.

The next product I picked up was Revlon Super Lustrous lipgloss in Foiled. I have seen many people wear this shade in youtube videos (example, I've seen my friend Emily aka emilynoel83 wear this alot!) and I just thought it was so gorgeous! I had a $1.00 off coupon for it and so with the coupon I paid $6.99! Here's a picture:

I applied this as soon as I got home and it is a great nude color! I am loving it so far, I can't wait to see what it looks like put together with a makeup look! Here's a swatch:

I know it is hard to see, but its so neutral that it practically blends into my skin. So my apologies if you're having trouble seeing it.

The next product I picked up is the Clear Scalp and hair therapy shampoo and conditioner. This is a fairly new product I believe and I have been wanting to try it out for a while. I was so excited because they were on sale for $4.99, I had coupons for $2.00 off and so at the end of everything I paid only $2.99 for each of them!!!! I was thrilled about that! :) Here are pictures of both:

Sorry, my puppy got in this picture and I didn't realize it :) lol

So after coupons I ended up paying $20.97 for all 4 products!!! I had a $3.50 off $10 or more Ulta coupon that I used for this purchase, and so I got a really good deal for everything! :)

Well, thats it for this Ulta haul! I hope you enjoyed this and I hope y'all have a great afternoon! I'll be blogging again soon! Follow me on Twitter for updates while I'm in the hospital over the next week and a half! Here's the link to do so: www.twitter.com/mariahsierra94

Ulta Haul!!

Hey everyone!! I hope you're doing well!! I just wanted to share with you a small Ulta haul of a few products that I picked up today. Lets get started...

The first thing I picked up was Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick in Born with it. This lipstick is a actually a dupe for MAC lipstick in Creme Cup, so I was very excited when I remembered that MAC lipsticks are $14.50 and I paid $6.49 for the Maybelline lipstick because I had a $1.00 off coupon!!! Here's a picture and a swatch:

This shade is my lip color but amped up a bit. I am very happy with this lipstick, it feels so smooth and glides on wonderfully! :)

Next, I purchased the Covergirl Eye Enhancers 4 kit eyeshadows in Sugar Coated and Fairytale. I think the shades in each palette are gorgeous, but I have to say the pigmentation is not wonderful. The color payoff is pretty good, its just that the shades are not as pigmented as I would like, but I got an amazing deal on them!!! They were $5.49 each, but covergirl was having a buy 1 get 1 50% off PLUS I had a $3.00 off two covergirl products coupon. So I ended up paying $5.64 for both, basically I got both quads for the price of one!!! So I was ecstatic about that!! Here's pictures and swatches of both quads:

This one is called "Fairytale" I really like this one alot! Its gorgeous, here's a swatch of the shades:

The shades are really gorgeous, its just that the pigmentation isn't as rich as my Wet n Wild palettes I have. Here's the next quad:

This is called "Sugar Coated" I also really like these shades!! They are beautiful, here's some swatches:

The shades in this quad are gorgeous as well and these shades are not as richly pigmented as again the Wet n Wild shadows, but I still love these quads!!

I'll probably go back to Ulta tomorrow because they didn't have certain products that I had wanted to purchase today so I thought I would go to another one tomorrow to see if they had them. Anyways, thats it for this haul!

I hope y'all enjoyed it and I hope you have a wonderful night!! I'll be blogging again soon!! :) FYI, I am going into the hospital again on Friday (8/10/12) for more brain surgery and I won't be home for 7-14 days. So I don't think I'll be blogging during that time, but I'll probably be updating my Twitter account so you can keep up with everything going on. Anyways, I'll be blogging again tomorrow with the rest of the haul hopefully!! :)

Brush Cleaner Recipe!

Hey everyone! I hope y'all are having a great Friday afternoon! TGIF! I am SO ready for the weekend! I wanted to share with you a brush cleaner recipe that my friend Emily (aka emilynoel83 and www.beautybroadcast.net) shared in one of her videos I watched a while ago. Lets get started...

BRUSH CLEANER RECIPE:

  • 1 cup Distilled Water
  • 1/4 cup Rubbing Alcohol
  • 1/2 tbsp Dish Soap
  • 1/2 tbsp Dish Soap mixed with Shampoo
  • 1 tbsp leave in Conditioner

Thats it! I used it on my brushes this afternoon and I think it cleaned them better than I thought. I am very pleased with this brush cleaner! Here are the supplies that you will need:

  • Funnel
  • Mixing Jar
  • Spray Bottle

Also a side note, I used tap water instead of distilled water because I didn't have any and the tap water worked just fine. I am impressed with how the product in the brushes came out so easily, I didn't have to keep spraying them to get them clean. One maybe two applications of the brush cleaner is what I used and that amount got all of the product out of the brushes. The only brush that I had to spray about 3 times was my blush brush because it had a lot of product in it, other than that one all the other brushes came clean with one to two applications.

Ok, well thats it! I hope you enjoyed this and I hope you will try it out! Have a wonderful Friday and I'll be blogging again soon! :)

July beauty favorites! Part 2

Hey everyone! I hope you're having a great Wednesday night! I wanted to share with you part 2 of my July beauty favorites! If you haven't read part 1 here's the link: http://mariah-cantstopthebeauty.blogspot.com/2012/08/july-beauty-favorites-part-1.html

Anyways, lets get started with part 2! This will cover eye, lip and nail polish favorites!

First lets start with eye makeup favorites:

  • 1. Too Faced shadow insurance eyeshadow primer- This has been a long time favorite of mine! I don't know how I managed without this for all the years I wore eye makeup without a primer! I am now seeing the shades become more vibrant and pigmented than before wearing it and it is just amazing! It doesn't crease, doesn't make my eyelids greasy and it is just an overall amazing eye primer! I still can't believe that I bought this last year at Sephora for $18 and I still haven't run out of it! If you don't own an eyeshadow primer, I strongly suggest you purchase one you won't be disappointed....TRUST ME! :)

  • 2. NYX Jumbo eyeshadow pencil in Rust- I bought this a few weeks ago at Ulta and I have never tried NYX jumbo pencils and I have to say I am loving them!! I wore this particular one during my VBS camp that I was working last month and it stays so well! It lasts all day long and its very pigmented! I am so impressed with this, I think I'll have to go purchase more soon! I paid $3.49 for this when they were having a buy 1 get 1 50% off sale last month :)

  • 3. Wet n Wild color icon eyeshadow trio in Sweet as Candy- As y'all know, I have been in love with wet n wild for the longest time! I picked this one up a few months ago and I have been loving it! It so natural yet still a put together look. This trio is very pigmented as are all of the wet n wild palettes, it doesn't crease on me at all and lasts all day long! I paid $1.99 for it when RiteAid was having their 40% off sale :)

  • 4. Maybelline Master Drama eyeliner pencil in Vibrant Violet- I have been loving this liner! It makes my brown eyes pop and it stays all day long! I smudge it out with a smudge brush to make it softer look, and its also very pigmented! I bought it a few months ago at Ulta and I paid I believe $7.99 for it.

  • 5. CoverGirl LashBlast Volume mascara- I bought this recently at Walgreens for $6.99 I think and I have been really enjoying it! It volumizes my lashes and it lengthens them pretty well. The only thing that I have yet to find in a mascara is one that doesn't clump them together. This one doesn't clump as bad, but still enough to where it drives me a little crazy. But other than that, its a really great mascara!
Ok, thats it for my eye makeup favorites! Now onto my lip favorites:

  • 1. Lo'real Colour Riche lipcolor in Fairest Nude- I have been loving this lipstick!! It is so natural yet it gives a little more color to your lips. I bought this at Ulta last month and I paid $5.99 for it.

  • 2. Revlon Colorburst lip butter in Pink Truffle- I bought this a while ago at CVS when they were having a buy 1 get 1 50% off sale, and I have to say I have really been loving this color! I actually apply it over the top of the fairest nude lipstick for a little more pinky color to my lips. It stays for quite a while although I do have to re-apply throughout the day. I paid $6.49 for this I believe.

  • 3. Revlon Colorburst lipstick in Petal- If you're looking for a great neutral pink lipstick, I would suggest this one! Its a great lipstick and I have been really enjoying it! I bought it a while ago at Walgreens for $6.99 and I have been using it quite often. Its very pigmented, and basically I feel that its my lip color but taken up a notch.

  • 4. Revlon Kissable balm stain in Honey- I have been loving this lip stain! Its a really soft pink color that leaves a stain on your lips all day. When you first apply it, it goes on with a bit of shine but throughout the day the shine fades and you have this nice pink stain to your lips. I bought this a few weeks ago at Target for $6.49.

And lastly on my favorites list for the month of July is my nail polish favorite:

  • Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color in Polar Purple- I have been wanting this for a while and I recently recieved it complimentary for testing and reviewing purposes from Influenster. This retails for $9.99 at drugstores and I have seen it at Ulta as well. I love it, the design is so cool and it stays on for a while. Here's a picture:

Well, thats it for my beauty favorites for the month of July! I hope y'all enjoyed this and I hope you have a great night! I'll be blogging again soon! :)

July Beauty Favorites! Part 1

Hey everyone! I hope y'all are doing well, I'm sorry I haven't been blogging the past few days. I was in the hospital from last Friday to yesterday for a couple surgeries on my brain to hopefully fix some things that have been occurring over the past five months, but I had some tests done and my surgeon decided to send me home for at least 7-12 days while we wait for the results to come back. Which I am very grateful because I can be home with my family and my puppy and of course you guys!!!

So anyways, thats where I've been the past 5 days and I am doing pretty well no worse and no better than when I went in but my surgery team is working on finding out whats going on really soon hopefully.

Ok, so now onto what this post is about. Its August 1st (can you believe it?! I can't!) it seems like July went by so fast, but I wanted to share with you my July makeup favorites! So lets get started...

So first I'll talk about my favorite face products, next will be eyes, then lips and I actually have a favorite nail polish this time around so last I'll talk about my favorite nail polish.

  • 1. Olay Complete all day UVA/UVB daily moisturizer for sensitive skin SPF 15- I have been really enjoying this!! I apply this before I put on my face primer and I feel that it really moisturizes and preps my skin for my makeup. I have combination skin so I get really oily in my T-zone but I am sort of more dry on my cheeks and around my nose, so I feel that this helps quite alot. I bought this a couple months ago and I really started using it when I was working my VBS camp last month because I was running around outside all day long and I needed sun protection. But you get a lot of product for $8.39 (there's 6 oz total in the bottle) so I was really happy with the amount of product you get.

  • 2. Hard Candy Sheer Envy skin perfecting face primer- This was a favorite in June and once again it is my favorite face primer! I love the way it minimizes my pores and leaves a "flawless" effect to my skin. The reason I bought this was because I ran out of my smashbox photo finish light face primer, but I wasn't going to pay $15 again for the travel size and plus it made my skin feel like an oil slick. So after searching a while and looking at different youtube videos and reviews I had numerous people tell me to go check out the hard candy sheer envy face primer. I finally did a few months ago, and my goodness I should have bought this from the beginning! First of all, the smashbox face primer travel size is .5 oz and you pay a shocking $15! While the hard candy face primer is 1.3 oz and you pay a total with tax $8.62! So I was much happier with the hard candy face primer and I actually have to go buy another one because I am on the last limb of the one I have.

  • 3. Sei Bella Tinted Moisturizer in Fawn- This has been a long time favorite of mine because its great for summer and just everyday use! This has light coverage and I usually apply a face powder and concealer to feel like I am well covered like a full coverage foundation would have alone. I pay $27 for it and you get 1.5 oz of product.

  • 4. ELF translucent matifying face powder- I have been loving this powder!! I bought this last month because my milani multi-tasker face powder was leaving a "cakey" look on my face and I didn't like that so I began searching for a new powder. I remembered this video I watched a while back of my friend Emily Eddington (aka emilynoel83 and www.beautybroadcast.net) and she was using this powder and I thought it made her makeup look pretty flawless! This looks great on the skin and it gives your skin a "airbrushed" look which is great! Its not at all cakey and it keeps my skin specifically my t-zone area pretty matte throughout the day, now I do have to touch up sometimes but otherwise it works awesome! I bought this at Target for $3 and you really can't beat the price quite honestly! :)

  • 5. NYX powder blush in Cinnamon- I am loving this blush! I bought this last month because it I wanted a blush that was a peachy/coral color and this one matches that so perfectly! It might look a little scary in the packaging because it looks orange, but once you apply it to your cheeks and blend it out it becomes this gorgeous peachy/coral color! I bought this at Ulta on my shopping trip there last month and I paid $4.99 for this blush :)

Ok, well thats it for my favorite face products! I'll be doing a part 2 to July beauty favorites that will have my favorite eye, lip and nail polish favorites in it because I didn't want to make this post too terribly long and I didn't want to bore you guys. So I'll be putting up the second part to this here in a few minutes!

Have a great night everyone and I hope you enjoyed part 1! I hope you will read part 2 when it goes up later tonight as well! :)
