My name is Mariah and I'm a freshman at Thomas Edison State College. I'm a Christian, I was homeschooled for 12 years. My entire life has been centered around music and I plan on becoming a music teacher and a music therapist. I've had some rough times in life because I've had twenty surgeries, twelve of those have been done on my brain. I was born premature (born 24 weeks too early) and I weighed 1 pound 5 ounces. I spent four months of my life in the hospital and since then have been going back and forth to the hospital over the last several years. Life is going pretty well now and I am just so excited that I've begun my journey of my first year of college!
Through the time of being in the hospital, I relied on God to help me through it. And He did! I had great support of family and friends that came to visit, I got countless cards and messages from my church family and friends. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful people in my life.
I got into makeup about a year ago thanks to emilynoel83 of Beauty Broadcast! Emily has inspired me to love makeup and I got into makeup because of her. Since getting into makeup I created this beauty blog about 2 years ago and my goodness its taken off very well!! I just have to say thank you to everyone that is viewing and following my blog!! :D y'all are amazing!
As I said in the beginning of the post, I'm a freshman at Thomas Edison State college and I'll be studying for my BA in Music. I'm so excited to start the next chapter of my life! I'm heavily involved in my church working in their children's programs and singing in the church choir. I play guitar, I've played for 8 years and I've been singing for 13 years. I was blessed to find a fantastic voice teacher when I was 11 and she helped me up until I was 14, then I had to unexpectedly quit because I got into a teen homeschool choir and my parents couldn't pay for both. Well, in May of this year I finished my 6th and final season with my teen choir and I am so excited because I returned to my voice teacher! I am taking piano and voice lessons now :)
I have a 1 year old Chihuahua/dachshund mix and he's a ball of energy! :) . My home life is amazing! I have great parents and I'm just blessed to be alive! When I was born the doctors gave me less than a 10% chance to live, but God brought me through!
