Whats coming up in the next couple weeks....

Hey everyone! I hope y'all are having a great day! I just wanted to let you know that I won't be doing any new youtube videos for at least a couple of weeks. The reason being is I'm going into the hospital on Thursday for another surgery on my brain and I'll be in the hospital for a couple weeks for treatment. But in the time that I'm away from youtube, I'll be posting things on my twitter page, instagram, and pinterest as well as keeping everyone updated on things on my other blog http://lifeingeneral-mariah.blogspot.com/

So y'all can go over there and see all my updates from this hospital stay soon :) But don't worry, I'll be back on youtube as soon as I'm out of the hospital and feeling like I could shoot a video :) And lastly, before I go I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone that has been subscribing to me on my youtube channel! I can't thank you ladies enough! :)

Have a great day and I'll be blogging again really soon :)

Daily Nuggets.....

  • Getting all packed for my hospital stay :) Y'know the funny thing is you leave your house with just enough stuff, then you return from the hospital with more junk than you need (LOL!)
  • Getting my animals all ready for friends to come take care of them, hopefully my puppy will adapt well.
  • Doing laundry today and I have to go to the pet store to get some puppy treats because we're still trying to get him used to people and if they have treats, he loves them instantly! :)

AWESOME coupon deal!!!

Hey everyone! I hope y'all are having a great Monday evening! I just wanted to jump on here real quick and let you know about an AWESOME deal going on at CVS. Clear Scalp and Hair therapy shampoo and conditioner is on sale for $4.99 and there's a coupon you can get at the "coupon center" that is $4.99 off of the sale price! Which obviously the shampoo is free and you'd just pay the tax. I ended up getting one for $0.40 cents today!!!!

Here's a picture of the one I got:

I got the "complete care" shampoo. There are also a few other kinds: Damage and Color repair, total care, volumizing root boost, strong lengths, moisturizing dry scalp, frizz control, and ultra shea.

I love this shampoo because the one I got is specifically for people with some dryness on their scalp. Because of all the surgeries I've had in the last few months, my scalp is really dry from all the anti-bacterial stuff they lather on my head before surgery. Anyways, I've been using this shampoo for quite a while now and I just recently ran out of my third bottle, so I thought I better pick a new one up and when I saw this sale I knew I couldn't pass it up! :)

Anyways, I just wanted to let you know about it and I encourage you to pick one of these up before the sale ends! :) I hope you have a great day and I'll be doing my March beauty favorites video as well as a few other requested videos definitely this week! I'll be blogging again soon!

Hugs,
Mariah

Sigma brush cleaning glove!

Hey everyone! I hope y'all are having a great week leading up to Easter Sunday! I wanted to share with you something that I ordered from www.sigmabeauty.com and I know most of you probably have this already, but I got the Sigma Brush Cleaning Glove! I can't wait to try it! My method for cleaning my brushes right now is I spray my brush cleaner directly onto the bristles and then rub them in a circle motion on the palm of my hand. Its a very tedious process that takes a very long time if I haven't cleaned them for a while.

The main reason why I wanted to get this glove is because I needed something that cleaned a little better than  my method now. I have some brushes (specifically my sigma F80 flat top kabuki brush) that are stained with makeup and I'm hoping that this will deep clean enough to hopefully make them white again.

Here are some pictures of how it looks if you haven't seen it yet:

So this is what the packaging looks like. I got the glove in the color aqua because it matches pretty close to the color of my bedroom/makeup room walls. Anyways, it also comes in 3 other colors (black, pink and a light purple)

What I love about this glove is the fact that there are two different sides. One side is specifically for your face brushes and the other side is specifically for your eye brushes.

This the "eye" side. Now, I'm not sure if you can see the sections with the different names on them. But, the middle section is the "wash" section and it has little tiny knobs that really get in and thoroughly clean the brush. The top section is the "rinse" section and this part has little ridges on it that really get the brush totally clean. The next section is actually on the part where your thumb would be if you were wearing this on your hand, and that section is the "refine" section. This part has little ball knobs that help make sure you got all the product out of the brush. And the last section is actually between the thumb part and basically your index finger, this section you use for squeezing the water out of the brush.

Here's the the "face" side:

Now for this picture I'm wearing it so you can see how it looks when you're wearing it. But basically its the same process you went through with the eye brushes, now you'd just do it with the face brushes. If you notice the knobs in the "wash" section are significantly bigger than the eye side. And also the "rinse" section is a little different as well. Basically, its the same process just a different look to the glove :)

So I just wanted to share this with you for those of you that haven't seen this yet and if you were interested in getting it you can have my input thrown into the mix of all of us beauty gurus! :) Just so you know, price wise in my opinion its a little much but I'll live :) I paid in total with shipping and handling $41.55. I did get a discount of $3.90 because I used the 10% off code for the month of March which is "save2013" and as a result of that I didn't pay tax just shipping and handling. The glove is already $39.00 but you add in $6  for shipping and handling into the mix it gets a little expensive. But anyways, I love mine and I'll probably be doing a demo and a review on my youtube channel (www.youtube.com/mariahsierra94) very soon!

Alright, well I think that covers everything! I hope y'all have a great day and I'll be blogging again soon!

Daily Nuggets:

  • Snuggled with my puppy after class :) Here's a picture of him: (FYI, this was taken on his 1 year birthday just a few weeks ago)

Have a great day everyone!

Favorite Lipsticks and Glosses + Best Combos!

Hey everyone! So I thought that since the video didn't really give great pictures of swatches for the combos, I thought I would do an in depth blog post on specifically the combos. Lets get started!

The first combo I found is from the "Nude lipstick/lipgloss" category. And the combo is too faced la creme lipstick in nude beach paired with revlon super lustrous lipgloss in foiled applied on top. Its a really great combo if your eye makeup is dramatic and you want a nude lip look. I really enjoy wearing this combo :)
(nude beach is on the left and foiled is on the right)

The next combo I found from this category is the lo'real colour riche lipstick in fairest nude paired with revlon super lustrous lipgloss in peach petal on top. This combo is great for adding a little bit of shine to your lips.
(Fairest nude is on the left and peach petal is on the right)

The next category I found great combos in is the "pink lipstick/lipgloss" category. The first combo I found is the elf lipstick in classy paired with revlon super lustrous lipgloss in pink pursuit on top. This is a perfect match I think for a nice straight pink lip!
(Classy is on the left and pink pursuit is on the right)

The next combo from this category I found is the revlon colorburst lipstick in petal paired with revlon super lustrous lipgloss in pink pursuit on top. This combo is another great pink look, but a little more toned down than the last one.
(Petal is on the left and pink pursuit is on the right)

And the last category that I found some good combos in is the "Berry lipstick/lipgloss" category. The first combo I found is the lo'real colour riche lipstick in tender pink paired with revlon super lustrous lipgloss in rosepearl on top. This is a great combo for that nice, deep and fairly dark berry lip! I really love this combo!
(Tender pink is on the left and rosepearl is on the right)

Last but not least combo from this category is the revlon super lustrous lipstick in blushed paired with revlon super lustrous lipgloss in rosepearl on top. This is another great deep berry lip look that I think a lot of people would like wearing :)
(Blushed is on the left and rosepearl is on the right)

Well, thats it for this post! I hope y'all enjoyed this and I hope that you got some good ideas of some lipsticks and/or lipglosses that you could pick up :) I hope y'all have a great day and I'll be blogging again soon! :)

Valentine's Day makeup FOTD/tutorial!

Hey Everyone! I hope y'all are having a wonderful day! I'm so sorry I've been MIA for the past month, I started college classes last month and so everything else (meaning both my blogs and my youtube channel) kind of took a backseat. But hopefully I'll be back at it soon!

Anyways, as you all know today is Valentine's Day and even though I don't have a special someone in my life (yet!) I still ended up doing a Valentine's day inspired makeup look. And I wanted to share it with y'all! So lets get started:

Here's the products I used:

Face:

  • Too Faced primed and poreless face primer
  • Sei Bella tinted moisturizer in fawn #8877
  • Covergirl Concealer balm in light
  • Revlon nearly naked pressed powder in light/medium
  • Rimmel Natural bronzer in sunlight #021
  • ELF cream blush (from the blush/bronzer duo in St. Lucia)
  • ELF translucent matifying powder
  • Lorac perfectly lit highlighting powder in spotlight

Eyes:

  • ELF eye primer
  • Maybelline color tattoo metal eyeshadow in inked in pink
  • Lo'real infallible eyeshadow in smoldering plum
  • ELF long lasting lustrous eyeshadow in soiree
  • TheBalm Rockstar palette
  • Covergirl clump crusher mascara

Lips:

  • Too Faced la creme lipstick in nude beach

So I wanted a kind of dramatic eye with a nude lip and I came up with this look last night when I was brainstorming. I'm really happy with how this look turned out and I'll probably be wearing this look alot! Anyways, here's how I got this look:

After I applied my too faced primed and poreless face primer and my elf eye primer, I decided to let my face primer dry a little more. So I went straight into my eye look, first I took my maybelline color tattoo metal eyeshadow in inked in pink and I applied that to the inner half of my lid. Then I went into the lo'real infallible eyeshadow in smoldering plum and I applied that to the outer half of my lid. Next, I went to my TheBalm Rockstar palette and taking the shade "Presto" (its a matte dark brown) I applied and blended that into my crease. To complete my eye makeup and to add a little sparkle, I applied elf lomg-lasting lustrous eyeshadow in soiree over the top of the lo'real smoldering plum shade that I applied to the outer part of my lid. After I did my eye look, I took my sei bella tinted moisturizer in fawn and applied it all over my face and blended it down my neck. Next, I took my revlon nearly naked pressed powder in light/medium and applied that to my face. After I applied that, I took my covergirl concealer balm in light and applied it to any problem areas on my face using the flawless concealer brush from elf. To add some color to my cheeks, I took the blush/bronzer duo in St. Lucia from ELF and applied the blush to the apples of my cheeks using the small stippling brush from elf. Next I applied rimmel natural bronzer in sunlight #021 with the sigma F40 brush and I contoured my cheeks. Next, to highight my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose, I applied LORAC perfectly lit powder in spotlight. Finally, to complete my look I applied ELF translucent matifying powder to my face using Sigma F30 brush. And lastly, I applied too faced la creme lipstick in nude beach to my lips.

And thats it!! I hope this was helpful and informative for you all! I hope you found some inspiration from this look and please let me know if you have any requests for beauty videos and/or blog posts in the comments section below. I hope you have a fabulous Valentine's Day and I'll hopefully be blogging again soon! :)

CVS and Target haul!

Hey everyone! I hope y'all are doing well. I just wanted to share with you a haul from Target and CVS from today so lets get started:

The first thing I got was the new Revlon Nearly Naked foundation. My shade is medium beige and I picked this up at Target for a few reasons. First, I had a $2.00 off coupon and a gift card. And second, I ended up paying out of pocket only $0.25 after my coupon, my gift card and tax was added! So I was really happy about that!

The next 2 products I got were from CVS because I had $13.00 in extrabucks to spend. If you don't know what extrabucks are its basically like cash. So I ended up getting the Revlon Nearly Naked pressed powder in medium and the Revlon smoky shadow stick in torch. Out of pocket from there, I paid $10 because I went a little over from the amount of extrabucks I had. But nonetheless, still a great buy!

So thats it for my second haul of 2013! I hope you enjoyed this and I'll be blogging again soon! Oh, and there probably will be a video up on youtube soon of my haul from ELF that should be here next Wednesday. I ordered from their website and I'm really excited to share with you guys what I got, but anyways I hope you have a great night! :)

December faves!!!

Hey everyone! Happy New Year!! I can't believe its 2013! Seems like 2012 went so fast, but yet it brought some great things and some not so good things. Anyways, I'll get more into that on my other blog Life In General :) But for now, lets get into the December Favorites. So grab some coffee or some kind of drink and get comfortable because this is going to be a little long, I apologize in advance!

So first lets start with the face product favorites:

And let me just say that I tried A LOT of beauty products this year and I have found some that I really enjoy! The first product that I have grown to love is my Lo'real true match lumi liquid foundation in W3 Nude beige. By the way, I noticed that I forgot to include this in the picture, sorry :(

This is a great foundation for me in the fall/winter months, because I have oily skin and in the winter it is more dry so this works out very well. It is buildable, but I only need one pump for it be medium coverage on my face. I have really been enjoying this! :)

The next product I love is a long time favorite of mine. It is the Sei Bella tinted moisturizer in fawn #8877.

This has appeared in many tutorials and favorites posts before. The reason I love it so much is because it is a great light coverage foundation for anytime of the year, whether it be winter or summer. I order this online at www.melaleuca.com and it costs $27.00. Now you might be thinking "wow, thats a lot of money to spend on a tinted moisturizer." But for the price, it lasts you a good year or longer. I bought my second tube last year and it still has plenty in it. It doesn't turn liquidy or anything, which is great! :)

The next favorite is the Too faced primed and poreless face primer. I got this in a Too Faced Favorites kit a couple months ago and I LOVE this primer! It gives my face a "flawless" look to it and I just can't say enough good things about it. But one thing that is kind of hard to swallow for me, is the price for the full size primer. The full size costs $30.00 and I just can't see myself spending thirty dollars on a face primer, so that for me is only downfall to this product.

The next product that made it in to my December favorites is ELF translucent matifying powder. I bought this at Target a few months ago and I have hit pan on it, so you know I love it! It costs $3.00 and I think it is a great finishing powder to apply after you've done all your makeup. I will be purchasing another one for sure soon! :)

The next favorite is a blush that is from Tarte. It is the Tarte Natural Cheek Stain in Natural. I got this in a Sephora Favorites kit. And I really love this blush! It looks a little scary in the package because looking at it, its a bright red/berry color, but once you apply it to your cheeks it just creates this "flushed" look to them.

The next favorite is another blush and this one is from Stila. Its called Stila Convertible color in Peony. This is a great color because its a light peachy pink shade, and its pretty much my natural cheek color but better :) I got this as a sample in the same Sephora Favorites kit that the Tarte blush came in.

Ok, that is it for the face product favorites, now onto the eye makeup favorites!

The first favorite in this category is the too faced shadow insurance. I LOVE this eyeshadow primer! It makes my shadow pop more, it doesn't crease, and best of all it is not an oily based primer! I bought this 2 years ago and I still have a little bit left, but it has recently gotten liquidy on me :( so I think I'm going to have to break down and purchase a new one. This primer is a little pricey in my opinion, it costs $18.00 but having said that I think it is absolutely worth the money!

The next product is yet another eye primer from Lorac. It is the Lorac Behind the scenes eye primer. And this primer comes with the Lorac Pro eyeshadow palette, which is another of my favorites from last month and I will go into more detail on that in a few minutes. But this eye primer is great! It makes the shadows pop and it also doesn't crease which is another awesome thing! The full size of this costs $21.00, personally I probably would go for the too faced shadow insurance and pay the $18 for that one rather than the Lorac primer, but all in all I really love this primer as well.

Next, is the palette that goes along with the above eye primer. And this palette is called Lorac Pro eyeshadow palette. I love this palette because the top half of the shadows are matte and the other half is shimmer. I was contemplating getting one of the Naked palettes, but this one was recommended to me because of how versatile it is. The amount of different looks you can do with this palette is limitless! But the only thing that you have to pay attention to, is the shadows are very pigmented and if you don't tap the excess off your brush, you will end up with some fall out. But other than that, these are great shadows! This palette costs $42.00 and its worth every penny! :)

The next product is the wet n wild color icon eyeshadow palette in Sweet As Candy #381B. This is a wonderful palette for a nice, natural yet put together look. I wear this usually to church and other casual occasions/events. I just love how versatile it is, you could put some black liner on your upper lash line if you wanted to dress it up a little or you could just leave it as a natural look. But either way you do it, it still looks great! The wet n wild brand is pretty cheap and the quality is awesome! The shadows are so pigmented and rich, these palettes are my holy grail products so far! I have almost every color of the trios and I have one of the 6 color palettes. The trios run about $2.99 and the 6 color palettes run about $5.99. They also have 8 color palettes, which I have one of those and they run about $7.99.

The next product is yet another wet n wild eyeshadow, actually two of them. These are the wet n wild shadow singles. I have them in Nutty and Brulee, I've seen people compare Brulee to MAC's brulee and they always say that the wet n wild shadow is better. And I agree with them! Brulee is so pigmented and rich, it is amazing for the price! Also, Brulee is matte. While the shade called Nutty is a shimmery brown taupe color. This shade is absolutely gorgeous in the crease or as a all over lid color. I just can't say enough good things about them! The singles cost around $1.99 each.

 this one is Nutty

this one is Brulee

So, the next product that is a favorite is the Milani Baked eyeshadow in Fusion. This shade is gorgeous on the lid!! It is a purple color with flecks of golden shimmer in it and it is just amazing!!

The next favorite is the Maybelline color tattoo cream eyeshadow in Pomegranate Punk. This shade is really gorgeous on the lid! It has a little shimmer, but not much I would probably call this more of a satin finish than shimmer. But nevertheless, it is gorgeous!

The next category is lips. And the first favorite I have is Lo'real Colour Riche lipcolor in Tender Pink #114. This shade is gorgeous, its more on the deeper side and I think if you look really close at it this color has red undertones in it. I just love it!

The next lipstick is the Revlon lip butter in sugarplum. This shade is a great fall color! It is another one of those deeper berry shades that it is just awesome! :)

Well, thats it for my December Favorites!!! :) I hope you enjoyed this and there will be a video up as well on these favorites with swatches for you guys :) here's the link: www.youtube.com/mariahsierra94

Also I will be doing another blog post and possibly a video for my Best in Beauty Awards, so watch out for that coming soon! :) Have a great night everyone! :)
